To give women of all ages instant access to a variety of health information, the New York State Chapter of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG District II) launched the Well-Woman website.
Based in Washington DC, ACOG is an organization with close to 55,000 members and is the leading group of physicians in the US providing health care for women.

The District II Chapter represents more than 4,100 ACOG members who deliver health care to New York’s women. District II maintains a full complement of professional staff and an office in the state capital of Albany. ACOG District II is one of the state’s most trusted and credible voices on all aspects of female health care.
Board certification in ob-gyn is a requirement to become an ACOG Fellow, and more than 90% of American Board Certified ob-gyns are affiliated with ACOG.

ACOG District II members include both generalists and subspecialists in areas such as maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology and urogynecology.

ACOG District II supports an extensive continuing medical educational program, including the educational highlight of the year – the Annual District Meeting, which attracts hundreds of women’s health care providers from across New York State.
ACOG District II keeps its members informed about current medical care standards and ACOG’s professional recommendations through various publications.
ACOG District II works closely with the media to promote the specialty and keep the public informed of new research and current guidelines for women’s health care.
ACOG District II supports and promotes priorities in women’s health in the state’s capital. Working closely with the NYS Governor, Legislature and Department of Health, District II strives to improve women’s health care by providing its members with comprehensive medical education. District II has organized successful Lobby Day efforts in Albany with hundreds of ACOG members participating.
ACOG District II produces numerous patient education materials on a wide range of women’s health issues, including contraception, gynecologic cancers, pregnancy, menopause and health screenings. Each year, District II presents the Women’s Healthy Life Expo in Albany. Held during National Women’s Health Week, thousands of women attend the expo for free information and health screenings.
